Voormalig UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir biedt zijn excuses aan. Niet alleen aan Brock Lesnar maar ook aan Brock Lesnar zijn familie, Mixed Martial Arts fans en aan de UFC voor zijn opmerkingen die hij maakte in een interview over UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar.
In een interview vertelde Frank Mir dat hij Brock Lesnar graag dood wou hebben. Nadat de UFC en Dana White zich gingen bemoeien met de uitspraak kwam Frank Mir met een excuus.
“I would like to apologize to Brock Lesnar, his family, the UFC and the UFC fans for my stupid remarks, I respect Brock, all the other fighters, and the sport of mixed martial arts. I’m sorry that I stepped out of line.”
Dana White was erg verbaasd toen hij hoorde dat Frank Mir Brock Lesnar graag dood wou hebben en heeft daarom ook gelijk via de website van UFC gereageerd op het voorval.
“I was disappointed by Frank Mir’s comments, Frank’s been with the UFC a long time, he’s a two-time heavyweight champion and a commentator for the WEC.
I think his emotions are running high right now, he has a big fight coming up next month and he’s still upset about his loss to Lesnar. He’s been talked to, he regrets what he said, and he won’t be saying anything like that again.”
Gelukkig is er in 17 jaar UFC nog nooit een dode gevallen in de Octagon en het is te hopen dat het zo ook blijft.
